Ya-Ping Chen, Ph.D. Postdoctoral Fellow | Master's Supervisor | Vocal Instructor Visiting Scholar, Herb Alpert School of Music, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Dr. Ya-Ping Chen currently a Master's supervisor and vocal instructor at Department of Music College of Arts, ,Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, China. She holds a Bachelor's degree from the Xi'an Conservatory of Music, She then obtained a master's and doctoral degree in musicology. Following her doctoral studies, she pursue postdoctoral research in Management Science and Engineering, further expanding her academic scope through interdisciplinary inquiry. With over 13 years of experience in vocal performance and higher music education, she has developed a comprehensive understanding of vocal pedagogy and music curriculum design in the university context. Her teaching integrates traditional vocal techniques with contemporary educational approaches. She has played an active role in the professional music community, serving as Vice Chair of the Nanchang Musicians Association and as a Board Member of the Jiangxi Musicians Association. Her voice is pure, sincere and beautiful, for which she was invited to record dozens of folk songs. She has been invited to be a judge of major vocal professional competitions and variety shows many times, and has been invited to more than a hundred major performances. As a volunteer who is enthusiastic about public welfare performances, she was awarded the title of "Jiangxi Province's Most Beautiful Literary Volunteer" issued by the government office in 2023. Ya-Ping 's interests lie at the intersection of vocal pedagogy, transdisciplinary education, and music education policy. She has published scholarly articles on these subjects and continues to contribute to ongoing discourse in the field.
