Ruth Brittin is Professor and Coordinator of the Music Education Program at University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. Dr. Brittin is co-Chair of the Research Commission for 2022-2024, and served as Chair for the 2022 virtual seminar. She has served as editor of ISME's International Journal of Music Education and NAfME's Update: Applications of Research in Music Education. A regular presenter at ISME's Research Commission Seminars, Ruth has shared her research since 2000, with topics focussing on listeners' affective responses to music and innovative curricular approaches to both instrumental and general music. Ruth is an active conductor, composer, and adjudicator in instrumental music education as well as performer on French horn.
