The main theme of the conference is: "Music education in the Americas: current situation and challenges for the future" and was attended by researchers, teachers and students from Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Colombia, among others.

The next Conferencia Regional Latinoamericano de Educacion Musical de la ISME is scheduled to take place in July/August 2017.
